Vidette Gehl is the chef/owner of Big Bear Bistro. Her degree in Graphic Design and her love of food, gave her the idea to start a catering company, years ago with her cousin. It was called ElegantEvents. They traveled to San Diego, Chicago and Denver to cater events. They talked often about opening a small place together, though they never lived in the same town.! Having lived in Vail since the 80’s, Vidette realized the Village lacked quick breakfast and lunch options. So, six years ago, Big Bear Bistro was opened. A small "gourmet" sandwich shop, that has become a local’s favorite and a tourists delight. Serving breakfast all day, as well as lunch.
