Furtado's passion for wine began to grow in the mid nineties and led him to commandeer the Larkspur Restaurant wine program in 2001.  In 2007,  k.furtado wines was founded in Santa Barbara County.  Furtado’s winery produced 4 wines that scored over 90 points in national publications in his 3 years as winemaker.  Presently, he is looking forward to the birth of his first son in August.
